Reasons Millennials Need Life Insurance

Many in the millennial generation do not think they need life insurance but in reality, it is possibly the best time to purchase your life insurance policy. Whether you think that you do not need it because you are in perfect health or because you are too young to need it, it is time to reconsider and change your way of thinking. To help you better understand, take a look at these reasons from JC Demo Insurance Group serving Matthews, NC.

  • It is less expensive now. The younger you are, the less you will pay for life insurance. If you wait until you are older, you will risk paying more. It makes more sense to lock in a lower rate now and you should look for a policy that offers a rate lock.
  • You have a lot of debt. It is no surprise that you likely have debt whether it is in the form of credit card debt or student loan debt. Either way, you do not want to stick that debt on one of your loved ones so getting a life insurance policy helps take care of that for you.
  • You may have children. If you have children, then you should consider getting a life insurance policy that will help you take care of your children even after you are gone.
  • You can have built-in savings. There are some policies that offer investment vehicles and ways for your insurance policy to grow over time. Since you are younger, you will have more time for it to grow and become another nest egg for you.

Now that you know the benefits of having life insurance now, you should contact JC Demo Insurance Group serving Matthews, NC to get your quotes and start the process of applying.

How to Split Commercial Insurance Costs in Business Partnerships

Insuring your business is a critical component of a comprehensive business plan.

In a partnership, there are a lot of factors to consider when determining how the commercial insurance will be handled. Among those below are the two major items to be considered:

  • What are the Tasks of Each Partner? – Depending upon the nature of the business some partners decide that if a partner is bringing certain insurable skills and the other is bringing other skills that each respective partner will insure for the liability that may be incurred for that skill. For example in the case of a limousine business, one partner may have the fleet and drive passengers for the parties and other events, while the other partner in the business handles the information technology and promotional side of the business. These partners may decide to have the driver which would incur the most liability take care of the commercial insurance.
  • At What Level Is the Partnership?  – If this is a newly entered partnership, the partners may decide to let the partnership develop further before combining or taking out the commercial insurance. Oftentimes, partners come together because one person fills a complimentary need of the other partner. Getting a clearer look at this can occur in developing the business plan. For the most comprehensive protection deciding how the company will be insured should be designed during this process.

Tips for Home Maintenance in the Fall

Fall has officially arrived.   The leaves are beginning to change colors and temperatures are dropping to a cool and comfortable level.  Is your home ready for fall?  At JC Demo Insurance Group of Matthews, NC, we believe that proactive preparation is the best defense against unexpected issues arising with your home.  Here are some tips to prepare your home for fall and the upcoming winter.

Make Sure to Clean Your Gutters and Roof

As leaves begin to fall, these can clog up the gutters.   Make sure to clean them out regularly, especially while the weather is still pleasant to be out in.  Check your roof for any loose or missing shingles and make sure to clear off any debris.

Prepare to Transition from Air Conditioning to Furnace Usage

While North Carolina winters are fairly mild compared to other parts of the country, it does still get cold.  Winterize your air conditioning unit and make sure to get your furnace inspected.  The furnace should be checked for leaks and carbon monoxide levels.

Perform Chimney and Fireplace Maintenance Before Using Them

It is enjoyable to have a cozy fire going in the fall and winter.  But before you use it in the upcoming months, it is a good idea to have it cleaned and inspected.  This helps prevent the buildup of carbon monoxide and ensures it is in good working order.

Regular seasonal home maintenance is an important way to protect one of your biggest investments, your home.  It is also important that your house is insured to protect you against unforeseen accidents and disasters.  Contact one of the agents at JC Demo Insurance Group of Matthews, NC to learn more information on the types of insurance coverage we recommend for your home.

No Regrets: Choosing Home Insurance That Works for You

Everyone has a different view and opinion of home insurance in Matthews, NC. Some people are incredibly cautious and want to ensure that they’ve accounted for every possible event, while other people think that it’s a better bet to get the minimum coverage and just take their chances. Here are a few things to consider before you decide whether or not you want extra coverage on your home.

Can You Afford the Damages?

This is not just about property damages or about the belongings within the house. If you can’t handle the total costs of potential events and would rather not declare bankruptcy over these issues, then you may want to consider getting additional coverage. Litigation, natural disasters and theft can all end up costing you hundreds of thousands of dollars, even if you think that your home and things inside are of nominal value.

Understanding the Consequences

Very few people know their insurance policy inside and out. For instance, many people believe that their home insurance would cover a flood in Matthews, NC, only to find out that they actually have to deal with the water damage on their own (which can be incredibly expensive.) Getting caught unawares is one of the absolute worst feelings in the world, and one that you certainly don’t want to experience after you’ve already been through a terrible disaster. Should you choose to opt out of additional home coverage with full knowledge of your choices, at least you won’t feel blindsided should something terrible happen to you.

My business hasn’t turned a profit yet. Do I need commercial insurance?

Every business goes through periods of ups and downs.  This is especially true when a business is first establishing itself; the costs of advertising and new equipment can quickly eat through any profit that the business might make. For a business owner, this can be a particularly trying experience, and all too often they decide to look for other places to cut costs. Unfortunately, too many business owners make the decision to cut their commercial insurance coverage in order to save money.

The truth is that this relatively low-cost coverage is one of the last things that should be cut.  Commercial insurance is often the only thing that protects a business from criminal activity, natural disasters, and other catastrophic events.

When a business is losing money, it’s often because it just made a big investment in property or equipment.  While it may appear as if there is no money being made, the truth is that profit will come as a result of the investment.  If something happens to that equipment, however, the entire investment is lost.  That prevents the business from ever turning a profit again.

Business owners should consider their commercial insurance as insurance for their investments rather than as a business expense on their equipment and inventory.  Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to save money on a commercial insurance policy.

Talk to the agents at JC Demo Insurance Group if you’re thinking about altering your commercial insurance. They can help you to look for discounts and make suggestions about what changes could be made to help your business to reduce its insurance costs.

Is Final Expense Coverage Enough Life Insurance?

Many people think that purchasing enough life insurance to cover their funeral and other final expenses is enough. Although their intentions are good, this train of thought is flawed. Of course, the goal is to minimize the expenses you leave to your family, but that doesn’t stop at final expenses. At JC Demo Insurance Group, we’ve found that there are a lot of reasons you should purchase more life insurance.

Life Insurance Can Cover Medical Expenses

These days, we are living longer. As a result of living longer, multiple chronic illnesses have become common within our society. People may develop diabetes, congested heart failure, cancer, or multiples of these diseases. If you develop a disease, then it’s likely that you will have medical expenses that exceed the face value of a basic final expense life insurance policy.

Replace Your Income with Life Insurance

Another reason you shouldn’t purchase a small life insurance policy is that it may place your family in a financial burden. For years, your family has relied on your income. If you are no longer able to provide for your family, how would they make ends meet? It would be difficult. A policy that only covers your final expenses isn’t enough to support your family after you are gone. You need more life insurance.

Pay Off Debt with Life Insurance

If you are like most people, you have debt. In America, debt is a way of life. We accumulate debt to maintain a lifestyle we’ve carved out for ourselves. Unfortunately, many people maintain debt throughout their life. If you have debt, then a life insurance policy that only covers your final expenses will not help your family. They will be responsible for your debt after you are gone. Fortunately, you can choose a life insurance policy that pays down your debt.

We encourage you to visit our website and look over the life insurance policies we offer. We can help you find a policy that fits your budget, and provides your family with money in the event of your death.

Life Insurance – What are the common different types of life insurance?

Life insurance is important because it allows your family members, whether it be a spouse, children, or parents, to have financial support if you should die.  There are  various types of Life Insurance that can be chosen which offer different financial options and some can offer investment opportunities.  With a bit of knowledge, making the right choice as to which type of life insurance to carry and what fits your needs can be simple.

Term Life is generally the cheapest option for life insurance and the premium paid is a fixed amount each month. This type of life insurance is only good for a fixed amount of time that you pay on it, called a "term".  Once that term is over, which plans usually are 10, 15, 20 or 30 years, so is the life insurance and it will no longer pay out should you die.

Whole Life is considered a permanent policy and will last as long as you are alive and will not expire as term life insurance will.  Premiums are higher than term life but again, are a fixed amount you pay each month.  You can also borrow against the money you have paid in premiums.

Universal Life is also considered a permanent policy but the premium you pay can be flexible as it allows you to change the premium you pay based on a person changing based on life changes.  The premiums also accrue interest which can be used to pay the premium if wanted.

If you want to learn more about each option available and others, call JC Demo Insurance Group at 704-541-5155 or visit us at http://www.jcdemoinsurance.com to learn more about the various types of life insurance and to get started with a new plan.
